sorry, I dont dye dogs but I have heard other groomers but theirs at "Sally beauty supply", manic panic is a brand I have heard them mention. I have used blow pens on my own dog, make sure they say non-toxic. Good luck and have fun! Color makes everything beautiful!!!

My Miniature Schnauzer does not look like that. The sad thing is parts of her legs are hairless. She is 7 and even though Schnauzers don't shed the older she has gotten the more hair she has lost.

that is the most patient dog I have ever seen...no retraints at all...wow. The only thing I find is that the beard is too long...it gets so matted at that length...great job though

OK i have a giant schnauzer that is 3 months old and is the the size of that mini you have there and she is ready for her first hair cut. her hair now is long and out of control. should i do that first hair cut my self or the first time i should take her to a grooming place and after that do it my self following what they did? great video by the way i learned a few tips by watching it.

Loved your video. I have a hard time with my m.s. ears. Her ears are cropped, but they are longer than Champs. I accidently nipped the bottom corner of her ear last time. I went from the inside out, but she jerked and I nicked her ear. Any suggestions on how to keep her from jumping back as bad?

This sounds crazy, but sometimes I use a Buttercut 15 Blade. It leaves it so smooth.
The Beard Trim thing is up to the owner. You are supposed to keep them long, but who wants that?

I have also used a 15 for those owners who want shorter.I used to groom one that I did a 15 against the grain!

i always call a pet groomer to do this stuff

I know, I have bad lighting, sorry.....make sure the blade is not hot, and keep the ear flat with as much as your fingers flattening the ear on the opposite side you are shaving to help with the vibration which could also make them jerk.

Not every dog is going to be easy to groom(especially your own) so I would suggest getting yours groomed by a professional and asking them to honestly tell you how she did. If you tried the first time and accidently knick or scare her she will most likley be harder to groom for anyone! Grooming is not as easy as it looks and there is alot more knowledge needed than just turning on the clippers ;) If your dog is well behaved she would be a great learning tool for you!

Yeah, I dont like a long beard either but that is the owners choice. I do thin it out a bit to prevent matting.....90% of my dogs are very good and still, they know the routine!

I COULD JUST KISS YOU!ha ha My white miniature keeps getting burned and cut from groomers I take him to..bad luck I suppose.I've been too scared to go through the whole thing again. I just want to thank you for taking this anxiety away from me AND MY DOG b/c I can do it myself now. He looks so good. I just cut his hair for the first of many times. our all black mini Kurt is, I am told very good too.We are anticipating the arrival of a second mini-a female this time, to be called Lucy(salt and pepper) The one thing I find is that with a black haired dog it is hard to see the mouth outline.still, that's a minor point when you own the world's best breed of dogs
