Wow what a transformation! Nice video thanks. Please post more!

That is a great video. I have a website about Standard Poodles. Would it be OK if I use it on my website?

Thank you and of course you can use it if you would please add my website link to it!

Hi,

I think I accidently deleted the message you just sent me a while ago. Can you send it again.

Thanks

Ditto to YouRule888. Please post more!

the doggy looks awfully scared :(

I dont see how you say she looks scared, she is always happy to see me and get her makeover!

Love this. Thanks

and the little hair in his motuh that ones that he use to smella to detect thing you cut those too?, im from peru hehe in dont know how this hair are called in english hehe, bye

Nicely done. And the dog doesn't look scared at all, I wish all the dogs I groom were that calm. I definatly like the poodle face on her better than the bichon.

haha whiskers!!!!!!!! thanks!, but do you cut themm???

Yes, those whiskers do not affect the dog in any way. It has been done for many, many years in grooming. Cats are the ones that use their whiskers to determine their fit through small spaces, like little detectors.

i didnt know that, thanks :)

From one groomer to another, that was quite relaxing to watch, Gigi is obviously happy in your company and done regularly to sit like that for you. can you tell me what clippers you are using?, they were lovely and quiet.

Thank you! Those clippers are called "speed feed" and the brand is "Laube" I love them because they dont get hot like the regular blades but sometimes they wont go through the hair. Always make sure the hair is clean and that helps:)

I like the poodle face better too. I'm taking a grooming course and am opening a pet shop. Your videos are very informative. Very good job from the others I've seen. I feel more comfortable about clipping hair off.

loved it.

I have a question..

Can you trim a bishons face like that?

Not too bad, aside form the clean face. You are supposed to make a "U" under their chin, from the edge up inside ears down around under the chin, about half way to the forechest (breast) bone. Also, you didn't mention the little v between the eyes. And the 10 blade is a rather long "clean" face. I always use a 40, or on sensitive dogs, a 15. Always against the grain. A 10 is hardly clean at all.

Thank you for your input but I do not do show grooming so I am safe with how and what blades I use for pet grooming purposes:)

Its not about show grooming, its about the right way. People shouldn't use "pet grooming" as an excuse to do things wrong and not want to learn the correct way. Especially when they put videos out teaching their way.

The only thing I discourage about your post is a 40 blade on the face.I use a 15 alot too, but unless owners tell me shorter, I am not going to risk sensitivity issues when they come in on a regular basis. A 10 or 15 blade works well. I am not making excuses to groom the wrong way, I accept any advice and I am constantly learning new things from other groomers and I appreciate every critique given, as well as yours.

You can trim any dog's face like that-- you're just shaving hair, regardless of breed. Your bichon will lose the distinctive breed look and people will probably assume it's a poodle, but if you just want to do it for hygene purposes or something, there's no reason why you can't. If you just want to get rid of the black stains many bichons get around their eyes, you can also just shave the discolored hair, leaving the other facial hair alone.
