Unbelievably ugly dogs have a place in this world. There is an annual contest held to honor the ugliest dog. This years winner is named Elwood, a 2-year-old Chinese Crested and Chihuahua mix.

i would agree with the comment about getting the tongue fixed. considering how wrinkled it is, and how the tongue flesh is supposed to be, at the least, moist all the time.... poor puppy

The tongue wagging is normal in that breed, the winning animal is a perfectly healthy Chinese Crest mixed with Chihuahua. By the way, the winners are always Chinese Crests, no other breed can match that one and i must tell you, there are some strange breeds out there...

For all of you who think it's horrible to enter a dog into such a contest, keep in mind that the dog doesn't know! All they know is they get to mingle with other dogs and have fun! But THAT DOG... that's REALLY disturbing. GROSS! Very disturbing, he looks part Chinese Crested and part Pug or something, because THAT FACE.... *shudders*

the dog is cute when you think about...it, but sucks that he looks like that..i read a magazine where it says the reason why his tongue sticks out is because his left side doesn't have teeth..so poor dog...but it is cute though!^_^

I don't see how it's cruel. The dog doesn't care if people call it ugly; and after all, he's now famous and probably gets lots more attention than before.
